Workshops

Workshops are held at Office 6, The Old Police Station, Wharncliffe Road, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, DE7 5GF throughout the year. (last one at this venue October 2026) 

Workshops will be for a maximum of 4 students,  and will cater for all levels including complete beginners. Cost will be £40 for the day, hours 10-4 and include drinks but please bring a packed lunch. Other dates available on request for small groups - contact with request.

The studio is on the ground floor, and apart from one step to the studio, is disabled accessible.  Please contact before booking if you have any concerns and these can be discussed.

FROM NOVEMBER 2026 Workshops are moving and changing

From Saturday 28th November 2026, Saturday workshops will be held at the Hayloft, at Erewash Museum, High St, Ilkeston, DE7 5JA. 

Workshops will be for a maximum of 10 students, and will cater for all levels including complete beginners. Bookings now being taken for these. Cost will be £30 for the day, hours 11-4 and include drinks. There is a lovely café on site with light lunches available to purchase along with different hot drinks other than just tea and coffee.  The price has been reduced to reflect the slightly shorter day and the size of the room, but will still offer the same teaching and opportunity for all levels of lacemakers, from beginners upwards. 

Parking is available free at weekends at the car park on East St - almost opposite the end of the road that the museum is located, and very limited parking at the museum itself.
